RGX 2012 - Trip Report

Day 4 - Sunday, September 23

This day was probably the slowest and least productive in all of my trips to Narrow Gauge Country. Essentially, all I did was drive from Alamosa to Chama. Of course, there were many stops along the way to see some new and familiar sights.

Alamosa Yard - This was once a dual gauge yard and the heart of the 4th Division

Before leaving Alamosa, I found the end of the wye that was once the narrow gauge branch to Salida, called the "Valley Line."

There is still a short length of the narrow gauge rail at the end of the track

Looking south towards the SLRG mainline. Note the buck on the right. I didn't see him...
